The Calm After the Storm
This was taken in Scituate, MA the day after our most recent blizzard. It's about a forty minute ride from where I live. The ride there was like a winter wonderland. Tons of fresh snow on every tree and branch. The only visible color was white. As I got closer to the harbor, things changed quickly. It was like it hardly snowed at all. I was told, by two different locals, that I should've seen it yesterday. The ocean overtook the coastline and took all the snow with it. The snow in this picture, is what fell after the last high tide receded.
West Island Fire Tower in the Winter
Along the eastern seaboard, Fire Towers were erected by the Army Corps of Engineers during WWII to watch for enemy fire on our ships.

Sandy Neck Light House from across the marsh and foggy harbor. Gotta love a 450mm! The lighthouse is at least a mile away, across a whole lot of water.
Nobska Lighthouse, Falmouth, Ma
Another 5am sunrise trip to Cape Cod. This one was only an hour away! It was a strange sunrise in that the sun never really came out but the sky had plenty of interesting color.
Wing's Neck Light House, Pocasset Ma
An apple orchard in serious need of repair. Not entirely sure what purpose a lighthouse could serve on an orchard but, I was happy it was there. Middleboro
I'm not entirely sure why there is a "lighthouse" on this dilapidated apple orchard but, it made for an interesting photo anyway. I thought I'd better post something besides flowers, too.
